Vault Client Complete Uninstall

Post by hallcls » Fri Sep 18, 2009 1:57 pm

Is there a guide for completely uninstalling the Vault Client?

When I launch the client, it hangs while "Connecting to server...", and I experience similar behavior in Visual Studio when using "File -> Source Control -> Open from Source Control," in that VS hangs. I believe some improper settings may be to blame, however the settings persist across uninstall/reinstalls, and I would like to try completely wiping them out.

Using client 4.x, if it makes a difference. 4.1.4 at the moment, which I wish to downgrade to 4.1.1 to match the server.

Thanks in advance!

When you uninstall, the client-side cache remains, so you could try deleting that to see if it makes a difference.

I'd suggest renaming the entire Vault_1 directory.

Let me know if this does not resolve the problem, and we'll do further troubleshooting.

Thanks for the reply. I did as you suggested, but no change for the problem client.

I should also point out that other clients on the network can connect fine, and the server is reachable from the problem client via the web interface. Additionally, the "Abort current operation" button and menu item seem to have no effect, so I can't verify the server settings on this client, hence my original inquiry about a complete uninstall.

Actually, deleting the Vault_1 folder seems to have done the trick after a reboot. Thanks.
