v4.1.4: enable logging for Visual Studio 2003

Post by kha » Thu Sep 03, 2009 1:35 pm

I found the instruction here: http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=1534
I don't understand this part:
Visual Studio Classic Client - devenv.exe.config
Starting with Vault 3.0, this file can be found in the folder where the Vault client executables are installed, usually C:\Program Files\SourceGear\Vault Client. Vault 2.0.6 and earlier do not include this file. Copy VaultGUIClient.exe.config to create devenv.exe.config for these versions of Vault.
I tried to search for devenv.exe.config file in C:\Program Files\SourceGear\Vault Client, there is none. I searched in C:\Program Files\, the devenv.exe.config file appears to be in
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003\Common7\IDE
and
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE

In VS2003, how do i know if I am using classic or enhanced client?

Visual Studio 2003 doesn't have the option to use the Enhanced Client. Microsoft first put the new VSIP interface into Visual Studio 2005, and that is what the Enhanced Client connects to.

We will get our KB article updated about where to find the devenv.exe.config. Thanks for pointing this out.
