Solution did not import to Vault Correctly

Post by MParkhouse » Mon Jul 13, 2009 9:36 am

We are newbies trying to evaluate Vault. We a have a VS2005 vb project that we'd like to control thru Vault. However, when we tried to move it to Vault none of the files under the root directory (including the solution file itself) were moved. They all show an error symbol in front of them.

What have we done incorrectly and how can we properly load our solution? By the way, the solution builds and runs on the local PC.

Thanks,

Mary :?:

What steps did you follow to move the project into Vault?

Also, are you using the Enhanced or Classic Client for integration?

We're using the Enhanced Client and we followed the directions in the Getting Started document on the Vault site.

We used the same procedure and uploaded a small project with no problems. We are both able to access it and check objects in and out.

Is there a way we can delete the first one from Vault and start again?

Thanks,

Mary

Yes, you can right-click on the top-level folder of the project and delete it. Your project is probably bound to source control, so you should unbind it first. Open your project and select File->Vault Source Control->Change Vault Source Control. Unbind the solution and project files, then save All.

Let me know if re-adding it does not resolve the problem and we'll do a remote assist session.
