SOS 4.0.2 Crashes

I just upgraded from 3.5 to 4.0.2 and SOS client keeps crashing (Windows error box .. encountered an unexpected erorr...)

My machine is a Windows XP Pro. What can I try?

Are you using the secure port with compression turned off in the SOS Client? This is a known bug that causes the SOS 4.0.x client to crash.

Turn off compression in the SOS GUI Client under Tools->Options->General. You have to be connected to the SOS Server to do this, so log in briefly to the unsecure port to change the setting.

Or you can edit the registry. Close the SOS Client and look for this registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SourceOffSite\SourceOffSite\Settings

Change "Use Compression" to "on."
