moving vault

I'm moving my vault installation to a dedicated server.

I have the new 4.1.4 installed. So I'll need to have everyone update their clients.
(I was going to move first and then upgrade, but 4.0.4 couldn't handle the OS version)

Is there anything else I need to do besides detaching the DB, moving it, and reattaching it?

Do I need to ask people to check as much in as they can beforehand?

Actually, you should have the database in place first , so uninstall Vault 4.1.4 before you move the database. Either backup/restore or detach/attach will work for moving the database. Then install Vault 4.1.4. It will detect the database, ask if you want to keep it (yes), and create the proper database users. You need to do this because the SQL accounts used by Vault to access the database are not the same from one machine to the next. More details here:
