Cannot branch or share label

I need to branch the code from a label. When I do Show Labels and select the label, the Branch and Share commands are disabled. I think this label was imported from VSS but am not sure (it's from 4 years ago). Is it possible to make this work?

Alternatively, what's the best option? Get the label to a new folder, and then add that folder to Vault as a new folder?

I'm using Vault 4.1.4 on client and server.

If this label was imported from VSS, it has the potential to be problematic. I will try it out here to see what results I get.

You could Get the label and add it as you suggested, or you could wait until I have my results and decide what to do from there.

I was able to confirm that if the label was made in VSS that you won't be able to branch on it. The problem lies in the fact that VSS performs its labeling in a very different fashion than we do and our branch function can't work around that. I could take a feature request for a new branch that would branch an old VSS label, but I would question the feasibility of that feature, and it wouldn't help you out right at this moment.

Your solution is probably the best route to take here.

Thanks for checking. No need for an enhancement as far as I'm concerned--not that important, and hopefully I'll never have to pull out anything that old again.
