Pdb files and dlls getting checked in

Pdb files and dlls getting checked in
Hello
I have found mentions about pdb and dll files appearing in the pending adds in 1 other post but cannot find any solution.
This is causing us major problems, we have a solution with one websites and about 12 other projects, each time you build the solution pdb files and dlls get added to the website bin, and when someone inadvertantly checks them in no-one else can build the project.
Recently this has got alot worse, as sometimes it wasn't adding all the pdbs but now it is adding everything.
Has this been fixed or is there some method to stop it doing this?
Thanks in advance
Bex

Re: Pdb files and dlls getting checked in
What version of Fortress are you using? What version of Visual Studio? Are you using the Enhanced or Classic Client for integration?

Hello
We are using Fortress v. 1.1.3 and Visual Studio Team System 2008, I think we are using the Enhance Client, how do I check?
Thanks

With your project open, look in VS under Tools->Options->Source Control->Plugin selection

Re: Pdb files and dlls getting checked in
It looks like we had a fix for this, but then broke it in Fortress 1.1.3/Vault 4.1.3

We'd recommend upgrading client and server to version 1.1.4. It's a free upgrade for you.

Re: Pdb files and dlls getting checked in
FYI
We are running fortress 1.1.4.18402 Enhanced client in VS2008 in MS Vista Pro.
This is still checking in dll and pdb's
EDIT: Besides...it also automatically check out the solution file ( web solutions )
/Bjarne

Re: Pdb files and dlls getting checked in
Is this a website project?
Regarding the solution file being automatically checked out -- Fortress will checkout a file if it has been modified. So if there's a change to any project, the solution file will be checked out. We know that users don't always want the automatic checkout, so we're changing that in Vault 5.0, our next release.
Note: It's also possible the .pdb and .dll files are in the pending change set, so Vault keeps trying to add them back. If that's the case, remove them from the pending change set.
Were they already added to the repository? If so they need to be deleted or Fortress will keep trying to check them in. The bug fix prevented the files from being added in the first place. This is still checking in dll and pdb's
