I hope someone can help me with an issue I just stumbled across with the Vault 4.1.4 client.
I switched the Default Program for viewing files to WordPad.exe. I am running XP Professional, so the program is located here "C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Accessories\wordpad.exe". When just dealing with the latest files (Right Click on a file, "View") everything works fine. The latest file is displayed in WordPad. When I do a show history on a file and try to view an older version of the file, I get the following error from WordPad: "C:\Documents Can not find this file. Please verify that the correct path and file name are given." If I use the internal viewer or switch to NotePad.exe everything works fine. I have some files that need the formatting capabilities of Word or WordPad, so being able to launch files straight into WordPad would really help me.
Any ideas on if this can work?

I have reproduced what you are seeing. Even after changing the things that I thought would get around this, I get the error. The way I found that you can see a historical version in WordPad is to check the item out from history, then use Edit to view it instead of View.
I will get this logged as a bug.
