FailExistingDownload

Post by JasonBunting » Fri Jul 02, 2004 8:35 pm

"FailExistingDownload" is what I see in the log file. Basically, I have a guy connecting remotely to Vault, and when he does a "Get Latest Version" from his machines, it gets to 24% on the progress bar, and stops. Eventually it locks up or stops, and then the process restarts (if I understand him right) and all he ever gets are the folders, but they are empty. Maybe I will have him post more details here if he can, but that is the thing. We are using the latest version of both the server and client. Any ideas? Here is the really weird part, I have no problems at all. Of course, I am signing in with the administrator account and he has a restricted account, but this is not always a problem for him, there are times when he has no problem.

Sorry for the sporadic post, but if anyone has any ideas we can try, please let me know!

Thanks!!

When using Visual Studio, I can usually get it to check out one file if its the first thing I've done right after opening a solution from source control. Then when I go to check that file in or check out another file, it starts to do so and then just does nothing. The status says Checking in file... and it doesn't do anything. During this time Visual Studio is frozen. It doesn't say Not Responding in the task manager. But I can't click on anything in the window. So I end the devenv process from the task manager. When I then try to open the solution that I was just working on, it prompts me to make a new webapp even though I just had one open and working till I tried to check something in or out.

Does this problem happen when using the Windows Forms (not Visual Studio) client? Are there any proxies/firewalls (even personal firewalls) between your client and server?

Yes, this is a problem with both. There are firewalls . . . what specific settings should I be looking at? Again, this only seems to be a problem for this particular individual, so we are thinking it may be his connection, so it very well could be a firewall issue. Excuse my ignorance in this issue . . .
