This applies to VSS 6.0c and earlier versions installed on the SOS Server machine.
A small subset of SourceOffSite users encountered a problem where the SourceOffSite server would intermittently crash. This crash would occur when different VSS users simultaneously performed certain operations. Internal tests here at SourceGear confirmed this to be a problem in the VSS APIs.
SourceGear has had a number of reports of server hangs with ssapi.dll version 06.00.8169, which was the earliest version of VSS 6.0. Other 6.0 and 6.0c versions may also cause a hang with concurrent users.
SourceGear worked with Microsoft to reproduce, isolate, and identify this issue. It was caused by multi-user access to the VSS Automation component. They have released a hotfix that should eliminate the crashes you have been experiencing if you are using VSS 6.0c or earlier on the SOS Server machine.
