How to ignore COBOL Line Numbers?

Post by brentowens » Mon Dec 29, 2008 8:59 am

Can someone tell me how to set up DiffMerge to ignore columns 1 - 6 and columns 73 - 80 in files so that two COBOL source files that have no differences except in these 2 areas (where COBOL line numbers are populated) will appear as a "match" (no differences)? Maybe there is a way to define this in a "Ruleset"? I can not figure out how to do this.

Thank you.

Sorry, but we don't have that feature yet. I have a feature request already
logged for ignoring ranges of columns. I'll add your vote for this.

Jeff,

I would like to add my vote also. This would make my life much easier. I think I remember a few other people also requesting this some time back.

Thank you,
Chris
