I'm using VS.Net 2008 with Vault 4.1.3.18336. This morning I unknowingly dragged a folder in my website project into another folder, then apparently checked everything in. Later when I discovered the error I dragged the folder back to its original position (in VS.Net) and checked everything in (but as I recall the only item that was shown as checked out was the default.aspx and default.aspx.cs files in the folder).
Now this folder is pretty messed up. I can view the history of its files in Vault but if I try to diff two versions of a file in the history for any file in the folder I get a Diffmerge error that says two versions of the file in "C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Temp\vault[GUID]\[filename" were not found.
Vs.Net also tells me that the Default.aspx file (but not Default.aspx.cs) file in the folder needs to be merged, but when I try to show the merge status I get this error: "Show Merge Failed... Exception: strPatches does not exist"
If I try to resolve the merge status that fails also.
If I try to get latest on Default.aspx using the Vault Client I get this error: "An error occurred reading from the download stream ("CRC value in header 1381248871 does not match computed CRC value 1032571981!"), retrying" about three times, then this displays: "Finished get latest of $/EOBQuote/eobQuote Web App/eobquote.web.ui/BackOffice/PracticeAdmin/Account/Logo/Default.aspx" followed by this: "Too many errors were encountered downloading files. Some files may not have been updated." I don't get these errors when getting latest on any other files.
So obviously things are pretty messed up. I have not made any significant changes to any of the files in the folder in the last few days and I have a nightly backup from last night if I need to restore anything. What I'd like to do is get my History back and be able to check the file in and out normally.
Thanks for your help.
"strpatches does not exist" error

Re: "strpatches does not exist" error
You may need to use the Vault GUI Client to re-organize the project in the repository, then do a Get Latest and open the project from disk with VS 2008. Or if you'd like a remote assist session, email support at sourcegear.com, Attn: Linda, and we'll schedule a time to help.

Re: "strpatches does not exist" error
This was resolved in a remote session. Certain files had a Needs Merge status due to the moves. Once the merges were resolved, the files could be checked in.
