I know there is another thread here regarding client connection issues, but nothing posted worked for me.
Here is what is happening.
1. Souce Gear Admin can connect to the database and perform any function.
2. Visual Studio integrated with the client, and the stand alone client cannot connect.
This is the error message.
Unable to connect to https://<server name removed by SURFThru.com>/VaultService. No server was found at the specified URL. Please verify your network settings using the Options dialog under the Tools menu in the Vault GUI Client. Web Exception: The underlying connection was closed: Unable to connect to the remote server.

Are you trying to connect via SSL?
If you are trying to use SSL, it's possible it's not configured correctly in IIS.
If not, uncheck the "use SSL" checkbox in the connection dialog.https://<server name>/VaultService
