Hallo,
we want to set a new label for a previous labeled version, how can we do this?
Ex.:
- We labeled an internal version 2009.0001
- Now the developers work hard and made many changes
- For the next release candidate we only want to get some of the changes, so we want to set an new label 2009.0002.
All files from label 2009.0001 should become this new label. After that, we want to promote the changed files which should also in this release.
I can't find a function in Vault to label all files from a previous labeled version. Can you help me?
Thanks
Markus

Re: Set new label to previous labeled files
What you need to do is find the folder version that the label was placed on. That can be found in history by running a history query but filtering on just the label action. Once you know, you can select that folder in history again and apply another label.

Re: Set new label to previous labeled files
I think that this is not all, because in the previous Label we promoted some files. I think with the method you posted i get not then promoted files.
Re: Set new label to previous labeled files
You are correct. I have a feature request open to allow a person to either label a label or to copy a label. I can add your "vote" to it if you would like.

These requests are in our own Fortress database. I have added your vote to it.
