Error Installing Vault

Hello,
I'm trying to install the latest version of Vault. I'm getting "The older version of SourceGear Vault client cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group." I had an older version of Vault that could not be installed either. I tried removing every registry key and reference I could find to Sourcegear or Vault and it still doesn't work.

Is there some key or file I need to remove in order to get the install to work?

Do you have the C:\Program Files\SourceGear folder gone? How about the %username%\local settings\application data\SourceGear\Vault_1? When you searched through the registry, did you search for SourceGear or Vault? If you did one, then try the other.

Windows keeps a list of all the software installed in the registry. It could be a case of where there still is a key entry left. You might first try looking at the key mentioned in the Server Uninstall KB Article.

Hi Beth,

Thanks for the reply. I've deleted the program files folder and all keys I could find (using registry crawler). I will check the application data folder tonight as I did not delete that.

I should have mentioned that this is the client, not the server. Is there an article for what keys and files are installed for the client?

Could you try the Microsoft Clean-up Utility to clean things up?
