GUI freezes on "Add Files"

Post by tcarreon » Wed Jun 23, 2004 3:02 pm

When i try to add files (this issue just started) by either using the context menu, the "Add Files" toolbar button or File -> Add Files the GUI freezes or stops responding. The titlebar greys out and all of the toolbar buttons grey out. It does not respond to any commands from the mouse or keyboard. If I open task manager and minimize the application from the Applications tab, it returns to normal until I try to add files again. All other commands appear to work fine (Checkout, Get Latest, etc).

Pt. 2

i just rebooted my computer and it appears to persist. i thought perhaps it was because i didn't have a working folder set so i set a working folder first and it still occurs.

i have implicit RCA rights because of the group i am in but went in and set the rights explicitly and that did not help.

i hooked the laptop to the second monitor and it turns out the add files/folders dialog was on the second monitor even though windows only saw one monitor. it also looks like this issue was fixed in the recent update so now my question would be can i mix server and client versions? can i use a 2.0.3 client with a 2.0.2 server?

Yes, but I'd recommend upgrading the server as soon as you can.

There were a number of fixes related to performance with folder security enabled, as well as, fixing problems in deletion that the upgrade is highly recommended.
