delete vault history back to a certain date

We have a ton of versions that are no longer needed or applicable and our vault has grown to about 30GB and is perfoming terribly.

So I'd like to clean uuralot of the old history that is no lnoger needed.

Is there a way to do ths at a filder level?

Performance and db file size are usually not related. In my experience, file size can be bloated quite quickly when there are lots of labels applied. Deleting old unused build labels adds up to a large database size reduction.

As for performance, what version are you on? What operations are slow?

we use 3.1.8.

everything is slow. checking out, checking in, getting latest, obliterating (obliterating being "slow" is a gross understatement). I do this at night when I can let it run for hours).

we don't have a ton of labels. I looked and one repository had about 18 or 20 (total file size for files in there were probably 5-8 MB). and another had 5 but there was about 2GB of data in that one.

it gets to where it wil give a "DBFail" error when checking in or out at times.
