Branch Cache

Post by rubenmch » Thu Sep 11, 2008 10:18 am

HI, I'm testing if I could use branch per task with Fortress (Vault).

If I create a new branch for each task in Fortress (Vault) and i'm connecting to Fortress through a slow Internet connection. Does that mean fortress downloads all the files for each branch (task) even if all the files from all the branches come from the same parent and are identical? or does Fortress store a local cache and retrieves identical files from the local cache instead of downloading them again?

It would download a full copy of the branch. It doesn't look at any other folders on disk which may already contain versions of the trunk.
