Folder security: How can I re-inherit rights on a folder ?

Post by OldMan » Mon Jun 21, 2004 12:56 pm

In the Admin tool, user JohnDoe is a member of the Developers group. JohnDoe's default rights are Read only.

Previously, I have given the Developers group R/C rights on $/A, and I have given JohnDoe R/C/A rights on $/A/B/C.

I would now like to remove the designation for JohnDoe from $/A/B/C, and let JohnDoe's rights on this project be inherited from his default rights and group assingment. But when I un-check the rights for JohnDoe on $/A/B/C and Apply, he is prevented from accessing $/A/B/C, despite his inherited rights.

Am I missing something? If not, is there any workaround?

(I am using Vault 2.0.3.)

In the admin tool, click on the Users pane. Select the user, and click Security. In the dialog that comes up, select the repository, then the assingment and click the Delete Assignment button.
