Installation problems with Vault Server 4.1.2.18185
Hello
I'm evaluating Vault. Both client & server should be running on an XP SP3 machine with IIS6 and SQL Server Express 2008. When running the server .MSI package all goes well until the server installation reaches the point where I am about to be asked for my license keys. Then IE opens up and I get a
'Failed to access IIS metabase. '
Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.3053; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.3053
How can I fix this? I am unclear as to which accounts Vault wants to use for IIS rights. I have SQLS2008 configured to use dual-mode authentication, and the installer sucessfully connected to the 'sa' account on the SQL server.
Thanks for any help - it looks like a great product but the installation process seems rather partial. It completely failed to work when I had a full desktop installation of SQL Server 7.

Right. Fixed this by using the aspnet_regiis tool
aspnet_regiis -ga ASPNET
aspnet_regiis -ga ASPNET

I'll try and keep this as a sort-of real-time thread ...
Suggestion:
Have a 'test' button on the admin email server page.

Next issue.
Installed the SS Import Tool. Once started it complains it cannot connect to SourceSafe (the venerable 6.0d). I'm kind of unsurprised as SS has been migrated by hand over at least 4 machines since the original installation back in 199X. But the error message would be a bit more useful if you could copy the contents to the clipboard!

Vault VSS import problems fixed by reinstalling from CD.
Suggestion: Is it not possible to have a multiple-selection project picker? Or at least offer to loop around to import further projects?

I have a feature request out for it if you'd like to add your "vote."Is it not possible to have a multiple-selection project picker? Or at least offer to loop around to import further projects?

Hello Beth. Yes, it does get my vote. Can we also have sticky login details so I don't have to keep typing all the login details etc. Thanks.Beth wrote:I have a feature request out for it if you'd like to add your "vote."Is it not possible to have a multiple-selection project picker?
