I have a user who is unable to check out and edit a file. He is having this problem only with a single file.
Via the Vault client, this is what happens: He checks out the file and edits it. Then when he returns to the Vault client, the file is displayed as Renegade.
Via the Visual Studio 2008 Enhanced client, this is what happens: He opens the file and begins to edit, and as soon as he types, a message pops up saying he has the file checked out to another location. But the "other" location is his current machine's current location.
I tried having him delete the file from his local machine and get latest from the Vault client, but this made no difference.
What else should we try?

If no other user are have a problem like this, I'd suggest deleting the client-side cache, in case there's checkout info that's out of sync:
