Difficulty using Vault with Visual FoxPro

Post by alexsosa » Mon Jun 30, 2008 1:26 pm

I am trying out Vault and am having trouble adding Visual FoxPro project to Vault. While I understand Sourcegear does not guarantee that Vault will work with VFP, other VFP users are able to do this procedure, so I wonder what may be the problem in this case.

Following instructions in another post here, I added the string SCCLogFileName = C:\vaultide.log to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SourceGear\Vault Client key in order to see trace of call. The attached file is the result of that trace, with comments added.

Thanks in advance,

Alex

You are correct that we don't support integration with VFP. I don't have it available to me to try things with.

I don't see an attached log.

One thing you might want to do is create a dummy repository that you will delete later, and try using the Vault GUI client to add it in. If the client can't get it in, then no other method is going to work.

Are you given an error at all?

Thank you Beth,

I sent another message with the file content. See this thread please:

More than one user of VFP tells me that they are using Vault integrated with VFP with no dofficulty, so I think it may have to do with the environment in my machine. So far I find that the sgvault.log shows nothing except for those times I come in for vault admin via the browser: http://192.168.111.7/VaultService/VaultWeb/login.aspx. A detailed log reads this:

We wish we could be of more help, but since we don't support Visual FoxPro, we can't offer any helpful suggestions.
