No setting the Working Folder

Post by StuartHemming » Fri Jun 27, 2008 12:42 am

There are many occasions when we what to grab files, maybe from older versions to try stuff.

We generally do this by going to a labelled point in a folder and do a "Get Tree". This function asks for a folder to dump the files into but it automagically sets the Working Folder for the repository folder they came from. More often than not we don't want this.

It would be nice whenever Vault asks for a directory for files to go to (except when explicitly setting the Working Folder) if there were at least an option to not leave the selected directory marked as the Working Folder.

I need to understand this one a little better.

Even though it places the working folder as the default path, you can change that path during the Get without the working folder being changed. It just defaults to the working folder because that's the most common.

Is it a case of where you want an option to not have the working folder appear by default in that path and just have it show up as blank?

We'd like, for these actions, the option NOT to have the working folder set at all.

Ok, got it. Thanks for the explanation. I added your vote to that.
