Renegade files and "no files to checkin" in Vault

Post by billyboy » Tue Jun 03, 2008 8:54 am

I’m having problems with checking in files after an offline development session at a client site.

Before visiting the site I checked in the entire project (VS 2008 inc Xtal Reports) then checked out the few files I needed.

While on-site I had to check out the project disconnected top add an existing report file to the project.

On my return the checkin went fine, except that:

- The newly added file doesn’t appear to be under source control i.e. no icon to indicate its status.

- The project is renegade and will not check in, “There were no items found for checkin”.

- A report file I viewed on-site but did not alter is also renegade and will not check in.

A code file which I amended did check in OK

So far vault has worked faultlessly. We would appreciate any help you can give to resolve this problem and keep confidence in the product high.

Are you using the Classic Client or the Enhanced Client?

Renegade means a file is modified or writable on disk and your options are configured to require a checkout before allowing a checkin.

Try checking out the renegade files first.

Unchecked the "require checkout" option and it seems to work like a charm now. Thanks
