Cloak not working

Post by Keith Rogers » Wed May 14, 2008 10:00 am

When I cloak a folder it goes from purple to gray but remains viewable in the navigation pane. Our Vault rev is 3.5.0.

When you cloak a file, it is skipped during recursive operations from a parent folder. It still remains visible in the tree.

Hmm, that's not my interpretation of your documentation in the knowledge base here. In http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=9 it says:
Cloak allows you to hide folders you don't care about. The folder is still there, but you no longer have to deal with it.
"Hide" to me means I don't see the folder, not that its color turns from purple to gray. Oh well, it is what it is.

I suppose "hide" lends itself to different interpretations.

For a more precise definition of Cloak, see Vault GUI Client Help->Reference Guide->Main Window:

Cloak/Uncloak

The Cloak command allows you to specify that a folder should be ignored during other operations. For example, Get Latest Version operation will not get files from a cloaked folder unless the cloaked folder is specifically selected.
