Binding error in SOS 4.2

Post by littlemaster.arun » Mon May 05, 2008 7:52 am

Hi,

While trying to bind all sub projects to root folder i am getting unexpected error.
I opened the application locally and in ChangeSourcecontrol option i selected all the projects and bind it in root folder.

Here i attached the error message (Error 1.jpg).

Some times while binding its automatically adding one part in server binding. For binding i selected $/AniteEDRM/Development but its binding to $/AniteEDRM/Development/Development and showing invalid. It automatically adds another Development in path

Here i attached the error message (Error 2.jpg & Error3.jpg).

See in Error 2.jpg there i selected $/AniteEDRM/Development folder but see (Error 3.jpg)in server bindig its binded to $/AniteEDRM/Development/Development

In your Error2.jpg, you will notice that you have selected

$/AniteEDRM/Development

but also, above that, you have the Project set to Development.

So, based on what you have selected, the path it will try to bind to is

$/AniteEDRM/Development/Development

You need to select $/AniteEDRM. Then the project will still be Development. This will make the complete path $/AniteEDRM/Development, which is want you're after.

Hi,

Thanks for reply. What about that unexpected error(Error 1.jpg). I am receiving that error 8 times out of 10 while binding the project. I am afraid to use SOS 4.2 in real environment because of this error. Please address this issue. While trying ti bind project some time it's binding most of the time it's throwing unexpected error.

Thanks & Regards,
Arun.M

The thinking is, that you receive the unexpected error because you tried to bind to the wrong location.

Are you saying you get this error, even if you do everything correctly?

Actually i need to bind the project to root folder so that it will set relative path automatically. Most of the time it's throwing the error. Some time it's binding. Any reason for this error? I attached the steps i followed. Please refer the screent shot.

See picture1.jpg in that order its always throwing error.

See picture2.jpg its binding successfully.

I think while solution file is top its working. Otherwise it's throwing error. Am i correct?

Any different way to bind successfully to root folder?

If I'm understanding you correctly, I think you need to bind the solution only to the root folder; not all of them at the same time.
