integrate ide

Post by jwagman » Sun Jun 06, 2004 10:34 am

After installing sourceoffsite classic, I find that check in/check out are not part of the integrate ide. Any ideas? Also, I must close the project and reopen it whenever I check in/out from the client in order for the change to be effective.

Thanks.

In the SOS GUI Client under Tool->Options->General, there is an option to make SOS your default SCC provider. Check that box and a registry change will be made. This should integrate Visual Studio or VS.NET with SOS.

Note that if you are using VB 6, you will need to install a copy of the VSS Client on your SOS Client machine. VSS provides an integration component that's needed for VB IDE integration.

I have sourcesafe already on my machine, and I have the checkbox to integrate offsite into ide checked. Any other ideas?

Check your registry, and let me kow the values under these keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SourceCodeControlProvider

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SourceCodeControlProvider\InstalledSCCProviders

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SourceOffSite\SourceOffSite

sourcecodeprovider - default - nothing
provider_reg_key:Software\SourceOffSite\SourceOffsite

installedsourceproviders:Software\Microsoft\SourceSafe
Software\SourceOffSite\SourceOffsite

sourceoffsite:SCCServerName:SourceOffSite
SCCServerPath:C:\Program Files\SourceOffSite\SosScc.dll

Which development environment are you integrating SOS with?

Would upgrading to version 4.x of sourceoffsite help?

Upgrading to 4.0 probably won't help.

Can you perform other SourceOffSite operations within VB 6 or not? Is it only checkout and checkin that are missing?

Did you previously use SourceSafe integration into VB 6 on this particular machine?
