I've just upgraded the client and server to 4.1.0.16216 running with Visual Studio 2005, and I've noticed that occasionally files aren't being checked out when they're being edited.
It used to work as expected with the previous version, but this is happening with increasing frequency and is very frustrating as I have to go and check the "renegade" files out manually without overwriting them, resolving the "merge status" then checking them in.
I also get the occasional "incorrect password" error when I log in, and if I retry with the same password it continues as normal. Not sure if the two issues are related?
What could be going wrong?

What source control plugin are you using with VS 2005? The Classic or Enhanced Visual Studio client? (Previously called VS 2003-compatible and VS 2005 integration).

Umm.. no idea, I'm afraid; I just downloaded the latest client software from the website a few days ago and installed it onto a new machine.
How do I tell?

In the GUI Client, look under Help->Tech Support.
For the plugin, look in Visual Studio->Tools->Options->Source Control->Plugin
