Enhanced client Exclude from Source Control

Post by gsmalter » Sat Feb 23, 2008 3:15 pm

In the new VSIP/Enhanced client in VS2008, how do we achieve the same behavior that we got from selecting an individual file and doing File->Source Control->Exclude from Source Control? I don't see that option or anything like it anymore.

Unfortunately the enhanced client is missing that feature. We do have the feature request logged, but its implementation is not yet scheduled. If you can't live without it, you'll have to stick with the classic client at this time.

Kind of works

Right now, Vault seems pretty happy having a file that is in the project but not in source control. It's harder to get it this way, but it works.

The problem comes when you make a totally unrelated change (adding a new file, for example) and Vault gets excited and tries to add other files that are currently excluded from source control. Then we need to undo those operations to prevent the unwanted files from being added.
