GUI client slow

Post by Tilman » Tue Feb 05, 2008 3:25 am

Hi,

I'm having a problem that only affects one of our users. When he starts up the GUI client it takes between 5 and 30 minutes. Most of the time it's around the 20 minutes mark. This problem started when we upgraded from 3.5.2 to 4.0.6. We tried doing a clean re-install, i.e. uninstall Vault, delete cache, clean registry, but it didn't help. Once the user has logged on speed seems to be normal. Any ideas?

Here is the user's client information

Do you have a large folder tree in Vault?

Does the user login infrequently -- that is, would his tree be many versions out of date?

After that 20 minute login, if the user logs out and logs in again, is it faster this time?

If the user logs in from a different machine, is it still slow?

If another user logs in from this machine, is their login slow?

Are you using the option to show "ghosted" files and folders?
