Why is it that if there is some problem preventing a successful check-in, that I have to go to the Vault Client to see what it is?
What I am referring to is check ins using the VS2005 (visual studio 2005) IDE integration.
In those scenarios if there is some problem preventing the checkin, the IDE integration seems incapable of showing the message. So then we frustrated lovers of Vault must open up the IDE and perform the same check in there - just to see what the message is.
Thus, a simple request: could you please funnel that message back to me through the IDE integration?
You will be my bestest friend.
Problems with check-in do not show in IDE - why is that?

If you are using Vault 4.0.x, Visual Studio 2005 and the VS 2005 IDE Client, you can see the Vault message pane in the IDE.
To enable this in Visual Studio select the View menu->Output.
Now you should be able to see any status or error messages from Vault.
