Vs2005 IDE issues

Post by Steveip » Tue Nov 20, 2007 7:15 am

Hi,

I hope someone can help, We are currently running on Vault version 4.0.4 but I seem to be having a few problems with vs2005 IDE.

I am using the vs2005 client and have set it up so that it is supposed to replicate VSS.

When I start editing a source file(without checking it out) the client will silently checkout the file. Is there anyway to get it to prompt me?

Also when I undo checkout on a source file that is not saved the IDE is not updated to reflect the undo. Is there anyway to get this to work?

Or should I revert to using the 2003 client?

Thanks in advance.

Steve.

There is some confusion among the naming of the different IDE clients. You'll want to use the "Vault VS 2003 Compatible client". See Visual Studio IDE Clients (Vault 4.x/Fortress 1.x) for additional information.

Thanks for the speedy response, not the reply I wanted though. Is there any plans to include these facilities into the VS2005 Client, or are you planning to take it in a different route.

The "Vault Visual Studio 2005 client" will offer some more of this type of functionality in the Vault 4.1 release.

Is there a particular feature of one over the other IDE client that is driving this?
