Dreamweaver CS3 plugin?

Post by dbinaz » Thu Sep 06, 2007 12:46 pm

does the old plugin work with this new version? If not, are you planning on making it work? I need to make a decision on a source control application ASAP.

CS3 is newer than we support. List in this post are the versions we support: http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?p=22184&.

You may get it to work, but we haven't tried it and don't know if it would work or not.

At the time of this posting Vault does not support Dreamweaver CS3. We know integration is important with our Dreamweaver customers, so I've added a feature request to investigate integration for a Vault 4.0.x maintenance release.

I can get one pc to work with dreamweaver 8 and vault 4.0.4 but I try to set up an additional pc and can't get it to work. dreamweaver works on it's own and vault works on it's own but the plug-in doesn't work. the dll is copied in the right place. i've even uninstalled vault and dreamweaver and then reinstalled them. what else can I try?

Did you install Vault after Dreamweaver?

Are you getting errors or are menus not appearing?

Yes, I installed Vault after Dreamweaver was installed. No errors. It's just not showing up in the menus.

We have the same issue here with two machines. Neither machine will show SourceGear Vault in the remote access list. We use XP Pro, Vault 4.0.4 and Dreamweaver 8.04.

Out of interest, I tried to use regsvr32 on VAULT_DWIDE.dll but it gave me an error "LoadLibrary("Vault_DWIDE.dll") failed - This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem". I have not tried reinstalling because this has not succeeded for other users.

This failure could be a side by side issue. In fact, we use Vault for Visual Studio integration also. Does this mean that a machine which uses Vault for that, cannot use it for DW also due to different libraries being references?

Hopefully tomorrow I'll get my hands on depends.exe to find out if VAULT_DWIDE.dll is missing any dependencies.

Using depends.exe (from http://www.dependencywalker.com) indicates that two libraries are missing:
MSVCR80.dll and MFC80.dll.

One of these can be found in %windir%\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.VC80.CRT_dir but MFC80.dll is not there. Maybe if that link was fixed, it would work?

Found an appropriate MFC80.dll and copied it into the SourceControl directory of Macromedia's common files. The only complaint DependencyWalker has is documented in http://www.dependencywalker.com/faq.html.

When running Dreamweaver we now get an error when bringing up the site properties: "Runtime Error! Program <Dreamweaver> R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the application's support team for more information."

As we have now copied in all of the DLLs which were missing and it still does not work, we are now stuck. What can we try next?

Where is the location of the VAULT_DWIDE.dll? It should be in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Macromedia\8\SourceControl. If it's not, make a copy and put a copy there.

The files which we currently have in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Macromedia\8\SourceControl directory are:
VAULT_DWIDE.dll (Vault installation placed this file)
RDS.dll
SSPlugin.dll

We have also tried placing these files into that directory:
mfc80.dll*
mfc80u.dll
mfcm80.dll
mfcm80u.dll
msvcm80.dll
msvcp80.dll
msvcr80.dll*

*: These references were missing in VAULT_DWIDE.dll according to depends.exe

Thanks,
Gareth

When you moved that first .dll, you just made a copy of it, right? Don't remove it entirely from it's original location.

I couldn't tell you about the other dll's. Those shouldn't have needed any change for the setup.

Can you check this path in your registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SourceGear\Vault Client and look for the key SCCServerPath. Check that path and make sure it's valid.
