Automated Checkout in VS2005

I am new with Vault and I was wondering if anyone knows how to configure microsoft visual studio 2005 professional editon to automatically check files out of vault upon editing them, and checking them in upon either saving or closing them. It just seems to be a major hassle to keep going in and out of vault every time i make a tiny edit. If anyone has a solution I would be most greateful.

My version of Vault:
3.5.1.4786

There's an option in VS 2005 under Tools->Options->Source Control->Environment->Checked-in Item behavior. It can be set to checkout automatically on Save or Edit. This might work for you in Vault 3.5.1 -- it does work in Vault 4.0.4.
