Vault Server Error?

Some users, including myself, have received an error message during file check-in attempts. Attached is a screen shot with the error message text.

Client OS: XP
SQL Server: 2000
Vault: 3.1.2

Can you open a Vault GUI, connect to a repository, go to Help - Technical Support and post the complete environment information from there?

There's a couple things that could be causing your error. Have you made any changes to your server lately or switched servers?

Have one user Clear Their Client Side Cache except for the entry of CacheMember_WorkingFolderAssignments, and see if that user can then check in. That user will need to perform a Get without an overwrite to clear the Missing status.

Cache file clear

Cleared cache files as instructed. I still get the same error. I can add and checkin/checkout other files. There is one file that I cannot checkin. I can undo the checkout, but still cannot checkin this file.

Can you look in your Vault Server Log for errors corresponding to your check-in? What does it say there?

Can any other user check out, edit, and check in that file? What is the file size?

There could be something wrong with the file on disk or that disk location. You could create a new working folder and set that project or area to that working folder, perform a GET, and then copy the copy of that file from the original working over top of the copy retrieved in the GET and then try to check-in. This would be a bit messy, but would tell us a bit more about what's going on.

Can you send me an email at support at sourcegear.com with a link to this forum thread? Our pre-release of 4.0.5 might take care of this, so I'd like to send that to you.

EDIT: The 4.0.5 release is best for customers who are already on 4.0-4.0.1. Other customers should first try clearing their client-side cache. If that doesn't work try setting your working folder to a different location, check out the file you are trying to upload, overwrite with your changes you had, then check in, or contact support.
