SQL Server 2005 SP2

Post by glt » Fri Sep 21, 2007 3:13 pm

Hi,

We will shortly be moving our Vault databases to a new database
server. Because of other applications that have their databases
stored on the new server, it must be SQL Server 2005 SP2. Is our
Vault configuration compatible with SQL Server 2005 SP2? The
full Vault configuration is given below. I couldn't find mention of
SQL Server 2005 SP2 anywhere on this site.

Cheers,
Geoff

It might work, but Vault did not add support for SQL Server SP 1 until Vault 3.5. See the SourceGear Vault 3.5 Release Notes.

SQL Server SP2 was tested and supported on Vault Server 3.5.1, 3.5.2, and 3.5.3.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the response. I guess we'll be doing SourceGear's
testing for them then. I'll post results when we have them.

Cheers,
Geoff

Please do so with extreme caution as this is an unsupported configuration. There were changes in Vault 3.5 to work around some of the changes in the SQL Server Service Pack 1 release.

You might also want to test out the other Vault upgrades as well. There have been significant changes in the 22 months since the release of Vault 3.1.5.
