Can not Obliterate

Post by bfhogan25 » Tue Sep 11, 2007 2:56 pm

We can not obliterate files. We have been trying for weeks. We have following the directions listed for the HTTP Keep-Alives, Window 2003 settings, etc.

Does anyone have a script that we can run directly on the DB to remove these? I'd like to backup the DBs and then clear the obliterated files out.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

You could try obliterating from the command line, which is Vault.exe in the Vault GUI Client directory. For documentation, use the command vault help obliterate.

Have you tried adjusting the SQL Server timeout in the Vault.config file in the Vault Service directory? Look for the line <SQLCommandTimeout> and change the value from 360 to something larger, like 7200.

No, this does not work. It worked for one branch but just timed out after 2 and a half hours. I have it set to 7200. Is this minutes, seconds, milliseconds, etc?

Anything else we can do? Is there a script I can run directly on the DB?

We have been trying to obliterate for over a month without success yet and it is slowing development down because it bogs down the clients.
