SQL Server "insufficient memory or disk space" ins

Post by aogbue » Sun Sep 09, 2007 7:27 am

Hello.

I'm receiving the following error when trying to install Sourcegear Vault Server v4.0.4 on my Windows Vista Machine:

Database 'sgvault' cannot be opened due to inaccessible files or insufficient memory or disk space. See the SQL Server errorlog for details.
Vault Setup is exiting due to a failure or cancellation. Error Code = -1280

I had been running Vault on Sql Server 2005 Express on my windows XP Machine, and had restored the sgvault and sgmaster in my Sql Server 2005 Express database on Vista before beginning the installation.

I've checked the Sql Server event logs, but nothing comes up.

Has anyone else experienced this problem, or is there a known solution?

My system details are below.

Thanks.

Adaora

OS: Windows Vista Home Premium
IIS: 7
SQL Server 2005 Instance: (local)\SqlExpress
Vault Server Version: 4.0.4.15848
Previous Vault Server Version: 3.5.2

Okay, I realised that I'd changed my data directory after attaching the databases. I've now restored the databases again from the proper directory and am able to update the database.

However, during the installation's IIS Configuration step, I receive the error below:

Any ideas?

We'd like to see a copy of the vault_install.log file from the failed installation. It's in your user's temp directory, %temp%. Email to support at sourcegear.com.

Please include a link to this forum post in your email.

Hi.

I'm looking for the temp directory in c:\users\my account, but don't see it. Could you please let me know the full path where I should look for vault_install.log.

Thanks.

You temp directory location is configurable, so the best way to find it is to type %temp% in a browser. This should point you to the proper directory.
