I have Vault 4.0.4 running on a Windows 2003 Enterprise server. I was able to create 3 shadow folders for different projects. The folder creation succeeded and the contents of the repositories were immediately available in the file system, as expected.
However, no changes are being copied over. I've made several changes to files, checked them in, and hours later the files have not been updated in the file system.
Here are some facts:
-The folders are on the same computer that Vault is running on.
-Vault is running as Network Service.
-The folders have security set to Full Control for Network Service.
-The Shadow Folder log file shows absolutely nothing beyond the initial creation of each folder.
-The Vault log has some "400 Bad Request" entries, but they don't indicate what it was trying to do when it happened.
I've attached both log files in case they help.
Any ideas?
Ian

Does the Network Service account also have access to E:\WINDOWS\TEMP\?
When you created the shadow folders, they were empty, right?
Can you open a client and go to Help - Technical Support and copy the information from there to me?
Has the Vault server ever been moved?
Was there an upgrade between when you set up the shadow folders and when you started making changes?
Can you increase the Vault server logging to Debug mode (done in the Admin web page) and perform an iisreset? That will provide more detailed logging. Then make some more changes and send me that log? You might want to rename the old log as well before doing this so that Vault creates a new log and we won't be dealing with old information.

No. I installed Vault 4.0.4 with your help, got the Shadow Folders page to start working, and created them. This is the behavior it has shown from the beginning.Has the Vault server ever been moved?
Was there an upgrade between when you set up the shadow folders and when you started making changes?
I set the Vault log settings to Debug and checked in a simple change. The resulting Vault log file is attached. The Shadow Folder log is still unchanged from initial folder creation.
