SSL Issue

Post by rifferte » Wed May 12, 2004 8:42 pm

I recently set up Vault on a new server - one with a valid versign certificate (according to IE anyway).

Upon logging into vault (both client and admin tools) I get this error:

The secure server that you are connecting to has supplied a certificate with a problem.

Host info . . .

The problem witht the certificate is number 0x00000000: "Unknown Certificate Problem".

I can then accept the certificate for the future, session or reject it.

The server logs don't display anything useful either.

Any ideas?

Ron,

Take a look at this thread:

The gist of it is that if you accept the certificate, everything will be fine.

Thanks for the reply. Accepting the certificate solves the issue.

Any reason as to why this is happening? Is it a bug in .Net's handling of SSL certificates? Viewing the site in a web browser works fine with no SSL issues.

I suspect that sometimes the .Net Framework is telling us a problem when there isn't one. I'm personally tempted to just have Vault auto-accept any "Unknown Certificate Problem" certs and only prompt for the ones with a known problem.
