Licensing and Support Visual Studio 8 (Orcas)

Post by Enceradeira » Tue Aug 28, 2007 12:02 am

I've just read that there are plans to support Visual Studio 8 soon. As we have not yet upgraded from Vault 3.5 to Vault 4.0 I would like to know what versions will support Visual Studio 8?

1.) Will Vault 3.5 ever support Visual Studio 8? If yes, what would that support cost?

2.) Will Vault 4.0 ever support Visual Studio 8, or is there a new version on the way?

3.) If we upgrade to Vault 4.0 now, will we get support for Visual Studio 8 for free?

Thanks a lot
JJ

Vault 3.5.x will most likely not support Visual Studio 8.

Vault 4.x does not support VS 8 at this time, but we do plan to support it when it is closer to final release, sometime later this year.
If we upgrade to Vault 4.0 now, will we get support for Visual Studio 8 for free?
There would be no additional cost for support for technical support issues which involve VS 2008 integration with Vault or Fortress. We don't support VS 2008 issues that are not related to integration.

Isn't Visual Studio 2005 version 8, and orcas/2008 version 9?

I've seen Orcas referred to as VS 8 and also VS 2008.

In my post above, I was referring to Orcas.

Vault 3.5 and 4.x already support VS 2005.
