Trouble after degrading from version 4.x.x to 3.x.x

Post by schoopp » Wed Aug 22, 2007 1:41 am

Hi

I have installed version 4.x.x, uninstalled it and installed version 3.x.x instead. But my Visual Studio seems to remember something from the first install.
How do I completely remove version 4.x.x?

First of all, did you restore your 3.x database before you reinstalled Vault 3.x? The Vault Server and the schema must be the same version.

If you used Visual Studio with Vault 4.x, then the bindings on your solutions may have changed. This is especially true if you were using the Visual Studio 2005 integration client. Vault 3.x uses only the VS 2003-style integration.

You may need to unbind and rebind your projects now that you are using Vault 3.x again.

I have a question for you now. What was the reason you switched back to Vault 3.x? Did you encounter any problems with Vault 4.x? Or were you just evaluating and decided not to upgrade?

If there were technical issues, we'd like to know so that we can work on resolving them.
