I miss the "Prompt for Check Out" feature
One feature that I especially liked about the VS.Net 2003 client was the "Prompt for Checkout on Edit" option (see attached screenshot). I liked this because it helped avoid accidental checkouts. I understand that I can revert to using the 2003 client, but I like the 2005 client. Hopefully this option can be added to it.

I'm glad to hear you like the new client. We like it too.
There's a handful of features from the MSSCCI client that people miss, and we intend to add them to the new client. This is one of them. The tree view for pending changes (which you mentioned in another thread) is also in there. I can't yet give an estimate for when they'll ship, but they're certainly on our radar.

My vote too! When the dust has settled, I'd appreciate this being added.
There is a related issue to this. I have a VS plug-in that extracts a text string to a resource. Under the old MSSCCI, if resources.resx was not checked out, I would be prompted to do so. Under VSIP, I don't get prompted for checkout, and the refactoring fails because the file is read-only. Please can you consider this scenario when you implement the checkout prompt.

Another vote...
I too would like the new client to support this.
