Show Labels... Act Recursively not working

Post by Virgil Smith » Wed Aug 15, 2007 3:08 pm

If I select a folder in the Vault GUI and perform a "Show Labels..." command, then view the "Recursive Labels" tab, the "Act recursively" check box has no apparent effect and labels applied to folders "beneath" the folder selected for the "Show Labels..." operation are never displayed.

Labels applied below the selected folder do not appear in the "History Explorer" either (though ones applied directly to the folder selected for the "Show History..." operation do).

This is occurring on our main repository, but not on a secondary repository that we just setup (on the same server).

This may also be related to a separate "Show History..." issue that started when we upgraded to 3.5.2 (from 3.something), specifically that "recursive" changes show up with a Name that starts with just the last letter of the folder selected for the "Show History..." operation. We had considered this issue to be a nuisance not worth trying to resolve.

What should we do to try to correct these?

Version Check: This Vault client is version 3.5.2.5087
Version Check: Your Vault server is version 3.5.2.5087

Can you open your Vault GUI, connect to a repository, and go to Help - Technical Support and copy the information from there to me? That will help provide me with more information.

Was that previous repository an import from VSS?

Yes, our main repository (the one with the problems) started out as an import from VSS, using Vault Server 3.5.0 and the corresponding VSS import tool.

However, we did not see the truncated names in the Show History dialog until we upgraded from 3.5.0 to 3.5.2. Unfortunately, I can't determine whether or not the problems with viewing "recursive" labels started when we upgraded to 3.5.2.

I think I'm going to need to dig further into this. Can you send an email to support at sourcegear.com (attn: Beth) with a link to this forum thread?

Also, please include a zipped Vault Server Log. If you can tell me some of the times you had performed these actions at so I can narrow down where I'm looking in the log, that would be helpful.
