Cant log in after 4.0.4 upgrade...

Post by bluebsh » Tue Aug 07, 2007 11:44 am

upgraded the client and server components to 4.0.4 and tried to log into the server using my non-admin user (licensed user of course) and it comes back saying "You have no rights to view any items in this repository"... yet I go to the web admin site and log in with the same user and have access to it? and i log in as an administartor into that site and check my permissions and they are set to allow me to access the repository using that user (non-admin one)... so why would the client on a different system say I dont? thanks!

ok to add to this... I am the only user out of 3 in the system that can not log in and retrieve a repository list... and we all have the same access rights too!...

That usually means that there is something wrong with the client cache files. Can you enable Vault client logging to see if that can give us a clue as to how this has gone wrong? Once you've done that, deleting your repository cache file should correct this. If not, then delete the known changes cache file.

Did you, by any chance, have logging turned on when you saw this error? If so, it would be helpful to prevent this problem in the future if you could send it my way. Email ian at sourcegear dot com.

Thanks.

Hi Ian,

The logs I sent you yesterday about my other problem with the crashing should also contain anything that happened during this. It all ran under the same log after I cleared out the old logs. Those are client only logs though, did you need server logs by any chance? I didn't have server logs turned on (not sure even how to enable server logging)
