Uninstall 4.x or Rollback to 3.x

Post by ByDesignTechnologies » Fri Aug 03, 2007 1:18 pm

Here's the situation.

Company 1 has 6 developers and just upgraded to Vault 4.x.

Company 2 has 4 developers, 2 of which work for both companies. Company 2 refuses to upgrade from Valut 3.x to 4.x at this time. This forces all developers for Company 2 to use a 3.x client.

Two of the six programmers that work for Company 1 also work for Company 2 and need to use a 3.x client. This means that those two programmers would only be able to connect to the Vault server for Company 2 and would not be able to connect to the Vault server for Company 1, which is now 4.x

Is it possible for Company 1 to uninstall 4.x or rollback from 4.x to 3.x until Company 2 is ready to upgrade?

Basically, once an upgrade has been completed, is it possible to get Vault back to an older version?

Options?

No, it is not possible to downgrade a 4.0 Vault server to 3.5. You may be able to have your developers install both 4.0 and 3.5 clients on the same machine, using the steps outlined here:
