Why is recursive grayed out in GetLatest in VS2005 ?

Post by blaze6947 » Mon Jul 23, 2007 8:33 am

Hi,

Another developer added a folder to a solution and checked it in, I tried doing a Get Latest from Visual Studio 2005 to retrieve this new folder but I can't seem to get it and the recursive checkbox is grayed out.
I am going to try the client and see if that works.

Thanks.

That's a misleading visual bug. More info about it at the end of this thread: http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?p=33903

That's strange because I did do a get from the solution and project level and I could not get the newly added folder to come down. Using the client and checking recursive did get the new folder to come down.

Was the new folder included in the project? Did you do a second get, as described in the other thread?
There's a bug that causes an exception to this that further confuses people: when the contents of a project changes, e.g. a new file is added, we don't notice this on the first get. In this case, you have to do another get to retrieve the new file(s).

Yes, it was included with the project.
I never received an exception so I am not sure I can answer the second question.
I did try multiple attempts to GetLatest version at the solution level and at the project level with no luck. I will keep the link you sent me for future reference.

Thank You.
