Unknown Exception importing

Post by petergjones » Thu May 06, 2004 9:59 pm

I'm evaluating Vault to replace VSS and so far it's not too good. All my attempt to import have failed. In the log file I get things like this:

-----------------
Logged out of the Vault Server.
Connected to Vault.
Upload for item $/UCClasses/Address/CAddress.cs failed too many times, aborting transaction
Transaction failed
**Failed** - Unknown exception: This request requires buffering of data for authentication or redirection to be successful.
7/05/2004 3:40:26 PM - Unable to commit for 7/11/2002 11:12:08 AM - $/UCProjects/UCClasses/Address/CAddress.cs - Checked in $/UCProjects/UCClasses/Address.
Refreshing SourceSafe connection...
Opening: C:\cleanvss\srcsafe.ini
User: admin
VSS database open: True
-------------

I created a clean restores VSS repository of a small branch. I'm using VSS 6.0c with the hotfix. Vault is on a seperate machine. Tiemouts aren;t a problem and file sizes are small.

Any ideas?

Peter,

Take a look at the following KB article.

http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic ... successful

There is currently a bug (which will be fixed with the release of 2.0.3) where the import tool doesn't respect the chunked encoding registry setting. I can give you a build that does respect that setting, or (if the problem is a proxy) you can put the Vault server on the list of URLs that bypass the proxy.

I hadn't set anon access to the web service.

Works like a charm now. Expect our order soon!

Thanks
