1st admin login - Server returned an unknown status code {0}

Post by FrankyBhoy » Fri May 07, 2004 7:34 am

I have just installed Vault Server (2.0.2) on a Windows 2003 server machine, and as i saw no error messages during install and as i can see http://<machinename>/VaultService/ and VaultService.asmx i assume the install was ok.

However, when i try and log in via the Admin console for the first time to add users, using the Admin username and the password created during install i get the above error message.

I installed using NT Authority\Network Service, and the permissions were set during install.

I can also log in via the VaultService/VaultWeb/login.aspx page using the Admin username and the password i created at install.

I cannot log on via the windows client tool with the admin account - i get an error message about a missing dll, the name of which changes each time i try to log on, e.g. gbv6oewk.dll then 4e8t4u8i.dll etc.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what can cause this error, i have searched the KB but have not seen this problem.

All help gratefully received as i only have a short time to evaluate this product for my new workplace before i am forced into using perforce...

Frank,

Check out this thread:

http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic ... tatus+code

The one thing to concentrate on is if SharePoint has put a web.config file in c:\inetpub\wwwroot that might be taking away a needed httpmodule.

Cheers for the speedy reply,

I checked the thread, but there is no web.config file in wwwroot that i can see. Sharepoint is also not installed, unless components of it are included with the default win2k3 install.

I tried the ping method invokation but got similar dll missing messages where the dll name changes each time...

Any other ideas?

Another thread that looks promising is http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic ... k+switcher

If you have both .Net 1.0 and 1.1 installed on the box, you may need to use the .Net switcher to set the default framework to use.

Also look at this KB article to see if it helps
