If I have a solution with an unloaded project and attempt to checkin the solution, I consistently get VS2005 to crash.
If you need any more info, let me know.

Michael,
This is likely a bug we addressed in 4.0.2, which was just released. If you continue to see this after upgrading, by all means let us know.

With Fortress 1.0.2 (on both the client and the server), VS 2005 no longer crashes but I can't check my solution in. I get an error box that pops up:
Specified cast is not valid.
If I reload the projects, I can check the solution in. If you need more info, let me know.

I'm sorry to hear that. What type of project is the unloaded project in question? If you'd be willing to
turn on VS 2005 logging and send it to me (either here or email ian at sourcegear dot com) that would also be helpful.

It's a WiX setup project. I'll see about turning the logging on and sending it to you.

Using the latest 3.0 build of Votive (from Wix-3.0.2925.0.msi) and Fortress 1.0.2, I was unable to reproduce this. The log was helpful and I see where the failure is happening, but I'd still like to be able to duplicate the problem so we can be confident it's fixed.
Do you have any other "unusual" project types in this solution? Can you duplicate the problem with a small sample solution that you'd be willing to send me?
Thanks,
Ian Olsen

For anyone else who stumbles upon this thread, we found the problem.
It was actually an issue with solution folders that contain unloaded projects, and had nothing to do with WiX projects.
A fix will be included in 4.0.3.
